Buddy Baskets is a community service project led by students in the Interdisciplinary Research Class at Metz.
The goal is to supply new mothers within our community with baskets of necessary items. We want these new mothers to know there are people that care about them and support them. We are collecting items for this project until May 23rd. Baskets will be distributed to The Virginia Women and Family Support Center, in Haymarket, VA.

As a fun and flavorful tie-in to our classroom project where students designed their own food trucks, we’re excited to welcome two real food trucks to our Elementary Showcase on May 15, 2025! Two Smooth Dudes and Chatterbox will be on site from 5:30 to 7:30 PM, serving up delicious eats while you explore the incredible work our students have created. Come hungry and ready to celebrate creativity, innovation, and community!
Join us for our Intermediate Showcase/Middle School, where students will proudly display highlights of their work from throughout the school year—including their impressive National History Day projects! This is a wonderful opportunity to see the creativity, critical thinking, and hard work our students have put into a wide range of subjects. Come celebrate their accomplishments and be inspired by the stories they’ve uncovered and the learning journeys they’ve taken!
Families are invited to join us for the Gifted/Talented Advisory Committee Meeting on Monday, April 21, 2025, at 7:00 PM at Baldwin Intermediate School. This special evening will feature an exposition of student work, where we’ll hear directly from secondary-level students about the exciting projects and learning experiences they've engaged in throughout the year. Come learn more about our gifted programs, celebrate student voice, and connect with others in our community who support advanced learning!
*Please note a change in format for this meeting. Instead of holding the exposition before the meeting, the exposition portion of the evening will take place during Supervisor's Report time.

SEP is an academically challenging program with an emphasis on inquiry-based learning for students. The program is not meant to supplant the regular school curriculum; rather, it recognizes the importance of allowing able youngsters to explore additional specialized areas of science, mathematics, humanities, and arts. Course activities are compatible with the expected achievement of talented students at specific grade and age levels. We will be offering a variety of monthly Enrichment Programs.
